Kunda is nowadays a little green successful industrial and port town, situated in the northeastern part of West-Viru county. It is bordered by the Gulf of Finland in the north and surrounded by Viru-Nigula parish from the other directions.
Kunda is located 26 kilometers from the West-Viru county seat Rakvere. Kunda is connected with Rakvere by a standard gauge mercantile railroad (19 kilometers). Distance from Kunda to Tallinn is 107 kilometers, from Narva 98 kilometers, from Kiviõli 34 kilometers, from Tapa 55 kilometers.
Since the year 2002 Kunda has taken part of Estonia’s healthy towns movement and since 2004 in the UNICEF`s Child And Youth Friendly City movement. |
